My SEO Reads for 2011

While traveling home on a packed train journey, had an interesting chat with a past work colleague, was surprisingly asked what books I read and which ones would I recommend. Well my short answer was none, I actually haven’t read any type of book since graduating in 2008. Amazingly he had covered 3 books over the course of 6 months and recommended that I also read those books.

So I decided to search and list books that I will dedicate my spare time to read throughout this year. (Not to mention this is my first post for 2011 after a busy first half)

Here is a list of books i discovered along the way:

  • Conversation Marketing: Internet Marketing Strategies

  • A Practical Guide to Information Architecture

  • Web Analytics 2.0: The Art of Online Accountability and Science of Customer Centricity
  •

A nice mix of books here, but should you have any other suggestions please share :)

    Thanks,

    Turgay

    Happy new year everyone

    Happy new year everyone

So what presents did you receive this year? Well the main present for me was the new Sony BRAVIA LCD TV, it’s a huge 42″ Sony LCD TV it has amazing picture quality with its 1080p Full HD display. I always wondered what the main difference between Full HD and HD Ready was till i noticed the picture quality, as HD Ready operates around 720 while full HD operates around 1080p. Here is a quick snap shot of my new lcd tv:

    Advanced link building tactics

Here is a quick “how to” guide on building links to your website

    • Ask for reviews! – ones of the most effective way is to ask publishers, webmasters to review your product/service in return for them to reference back to your site
    • Build relationships with news journalists, contact them ask them if they need content around your industry niche, most journalists would love to have data to seed out (in return they will link to your website as the original source)
    • Partnerships – you may have had a deal with a business partner or sponsored a particular campaign, you can ask for them to write about you and link to your website
    • Organise events – this does not need to be a an expensive event, could well be a simple “webinar” which you can get people to sign up, provide decks after and most cases they will write about the event and link to your website.

More will be covered later… Hope this helps!
